Post by: Twysted on February 28, 2008, 08:53:55 AM

i have voted yes,

reasons:

you still wasted time clicking

you still wasted possibly advertising dollars promoting it and getting refs

you got other people to join and now they face the same dilemna

and of course you were lied to saying you would get paid. ;)

i voted no,

my reason for this are simple, to me it is only a scam if you lose money, if you don't lose no money then you were not scammed/conned

yes i would say thats understandable

i guess it could be to each persons experience though, for instance you didnt invest anything, therefore you werent scammed,,,.but the next guy did invest,..so he is definitely scammed,..depends on the webmaster that ran it too i guess you could say,. and how they handle the fall of the site,..either respectable way,..or total scammer way and disappear and tell everyone to f$#%ck off.....

Ill go with scam this time. Mainly because the admin made you view the ads everyday when you clicked them. So basically he/she was making something from you and his/her part of the deal was to pay you for every ad that you clicked. They didnt hold up to their side of the deal and wasted your time and effort.

I voted no, but this kind of question brings up a lot of questions and answers. It can be considered yes but that really depends on the time you've spent on the ptc, promoting it, and in the end if it reflects on you after the site has become a scam.

But I strongly vote no since if you hadn't invested anything into the site AT ALL then technically speaking, you weren't scammed since you lost no money. Unless you spent money advertising your referral link, but perhaps that brings up another discussion.

I voted yes because you have ultimately invested your time.  Even though you didn't spend anything at all for that site (thus not being monetarily defrauded), you were cheated out of your time ... and time is a scarce resource like money.

I voted yes.

I have many reasons for doing so.

1.  I signed up for a site expecting good things.

2.  I may not have invested money, but I invested my time.  I now wasted my time on this site earning and clicking.  Those clicks I made I can't get back, nor can I get the time back.

3.  I may have wasted my time promoting this site when I could have been promoting non scam sites.

I voted YES.

As I see it, scam is scam: it doesn't matter if you invest or not.

No, because if you don't invest anything you lose nothing but your time.

No, because if you don't invest anything you lose nothing but your time.

But you could have spent that time clicking on anoter site that would pay you, so they scammed your time and indirectly your money.

time wasted = time wasted nothing else, unless your like me and actually don't have much time, then time is not money it is just idle time you could be spending differantly.

Hm... Yes, that's right, Twysted, but I think you are scammed because you don't get something that was promised...  ::)

i was also promised fair treatment in the country i live in and rights to bear arms, but since i don't get either i am not troubled. either way there is no such thing as Guaranteed Money unless your employed by the person/company and are an actual worker.

since ptc is supposed to be done on free time, it can not be considered as a job unless you are paid hourly and taxes are taken out ad you get those taxes back at the end of the year. Last time i checked, it didn't work that way.

I can't agree with you, but that certainly is an interesting point of view...  ;)

I also said yes because technically, you did waste time clicking for that site, which profits the owner, who has run away with his or her profits now.

I say Yes.  The site may not have taken money from you but they used you to profit.

Besides they said they were going to pay you and you believed your time was earning you money.  So they lead you to believe your time was money but they knew they weren't going to pay.  In fact you did earn money under their terms which they didn't pay you. (Fraud)

Lets say that someone said you would earn $1 for every nail you pounded into a fence to fix it and didn't pay you after the fence was fixed.  Would you really say "oh well it didn't cost me anything anyways?"

Or

I will pay you $50 for every page of code you write for a script but didn't pay you when it was finished.

Doing something for money is work.  Period.  Just because its not regulated like an hourly paid job they still owe you for the clicks.  The only reason they get away with it is because its a few cents or dollars and no one is going to make a really big fuss about it legally.  But imaging if it was a few hundred dollars....then you would really be complaining.
