Title: china and taiwan
Post by: StalkingButler the III on February 18, 2008, 08:38:00 AM
Stalky grows tired of seeing nothing but china and taiwan attempt to infest my site with autoclickers every day.....i can already see within 3 minutes of them signing up they are already autoclicking away.....i get quite a kick out of letting them think their earning for a day or so then i just delete them and ban IP from server....i just banned 10 more 5 minutes ago....just to let everyone of you know that if you allow china on your site....i was getting hack attempt emails whenever there were china members in the list for a day or 2, every time i get rid of them,...they stop... ::)  now since the last day or so ive been banning and deleting them instantly,...i have not received any more hack attempt emails... ::)

do you all ever wander how many sites would still be around and be VERY successful if it wasnt for china completely destroying them?? ::)

ever wander how much money actually gets STOLEN from us honest members every year from china?? ::)

ever wander why so many REAL MARKETING SITES AND NETWORKS BAN PTC????
example : google, bidvertiser, adbrite, exoclick, and many many more,...impossible to list all..LOL

its because of the cheating and fake traffic and clicks that china creates..... ::) ::)

so again i ask when will the world of PTC wise up and make a new policy which should have been done along time ago?? ::)

Yeah. This is a real problem. The only thing sites have been able to do so far is prevent members with IPs from China from registering. For example ibux doesnt allow people from a few countries and masterbux says that members from china have to wait double the time for payout because their audits take the longest (too many multiple accounts and autoclickers).  ???

well thats good that ibux has adopted those measures, maybe the reason why they are outlasting them all so far... ;D ;D

yes this issue has grown right to the boiling point......and china could care less they just keep on pushin it......you would think by now that all webmasters would have had an "epihopony" and realized their is only one ultimate solution and that is to slowly ban off all of china forever

Keep us updated on what you plan to do  ;). Hopefully we can find a better solution.

update : just banned 5 more,..they joined all at the same time,....and every one of them used an autoclicker....everyone so far ive banned and deleted has used one.......

so all 100% of chinese that have registered on redlightdistrict have used bots so far..... ::)

I am seeing problems with them as well too. But I don't want to outright ban them.

How exactly are you detecting if they are using bots, within 5 minutes of them signing up?

I personally take alternative measures to catching and stopping their programs from even working on my site.

As for the hacking, my site has an autoban feature I created. 2 attempts and the ip is banned, pretty useful eh? I don't even have to deal with it then ;D

sounds great coinmachine ;)

not too hard to see most of them doing it i mean between the cheat check failures and the floodguard activation and a few other tricks up my sleeve its not hard to spot the cheaters at all..

With the right bot, a cheat check is nothing. I found a bot that even can be set up for captcha's
php-ids is a great thing to implement. It will show a lot more users.

yes dont get me wrong i know a bot can bypass pretty much anything undetected..however theres one trick that will always catch them.... ;D its quite simple...

I am sure there is. The always go straight from login to the ptc section. So that is one way...

the way im talking about is actually a very old method.....but still very effective..im sure it might miss some that are lucky to catch it somehow.....but i do not see how it could get past this simple method...

Lol, why don't you just say it? Not sure what "old method" means, it could be anything.

LOL to tell you the truth im paranoid to post in a public forum..for fear they will see it and find a wya to bypass... :D :D

not until they get smart enough to use a udp flooder to exhust the cpu then hit it with an xss sql ijection brute forcer
Title: Re: china and taiwan

lol your funny. I'm more into security to be fooled by common exploit types being strung together as a name.

oh you must not know much about xss
Title: Re: china and taiwan
Post by: coinmachine on February 23, 2008, 08:14:36 AM
lol.

How about giving me an example of a "xss sql ijection brute forcer" ;)

I know more about it than you are assuming I do man. I can't fall for fake names of attacks.

If they were going to use an xss, sql, or brute forcer they would not need to dos the server first. <.<

i didn't say denial of service attacks, i am talking about servers that are high powered i am not talking about lil shared hosting accounts. please try to keep up.
Title: Re: china and taiwan
Post by: coinmachine on February 23, 2008, 08:38:40 AM
Flooding a server with packets, you specified udp, but either could be used depending on security settings (which could stop this all together).
I know the server needs to process the packets and that bogs it down, bla bla. That is a Denial of Service attack man.

It can be done to any server provided you have enough transfer power to do it. Botnet, isp, whatever.

I am quite up to speed with what you are talking about.

How can I block China and other countries from accessing or participating on my program?
Title: Re: china and taiwan
Post by: Founder on February 29, 2008, 02:00:38 AM
You can use the .htaccess file and put it in your public_html directory. Twysted has the most updated version. If you put it then they wont be able to access your site.

China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and most of Asia.

If you want I can prepare a customized htaccess file with the countries you would like to have banned.
Title: Re: china and taiwan

Yes that would be great, but you'll have to give me more details on this and how it would work.

Post by: Twysted on February 29, 2008, 07:52:58 AM
it's easy, you pick the counties you want banned and he will prepare the list. there are several sites that provide you with lists for free. the ones i get i pay $300 a month to get and ip's are guaranteed to be correct.

Since evryone already has knowledge about the chinese people here are the stats of threats posed by people who have computers from:

Possible threats from Pakistan:
5% of the population are known hackers hack.20% of the population can create autoclickers or will possibly Have multiple accounts. The rest of the population will pose no possible threat.

Threats from Indian members:
7% of the population are known hackers.15% of the population can create autoclickers Or will possibly have multiple accounts. The rest are in a safe zone.

hope this makes the status of members of Pakistan and India.Always remember to keep a close watch on them.Hope no one bans the signups from these places or else i will not be able to use the PTCs.In time you will see a increase in members from these places as they become aware about them.

Yeah that's basically all the countries you need to ban lol. Except I have a friend in malaysia who invests a lot and doesnt cheat. He has bought a few packs of refs and also a premium in velocityclicks already  :(.

I understand there are a VERY VERY SMALL percentage of people from these regions who don't cheat at all, and more amazingly they do have some buying power. Tell your friend to e-mail vcnetwork@live.com and I'll try to make special arrangements and exceptions for him/her.

By the way, thanks Twysted, I'll tell my members those are the current banned countries then.

Is there anyway to block IPs of proxies that these people would use? I've seen a few registrations that are obviously originate from Asian countries. Is it possible to block people from accessing via proxies as well with the .htaccess file?
Title: Re: china and taiwan

no not with .htaccess you can't you must have a proxy blocker. i have one that works very well, but i can't give it away for free, it took too long to make.
