So, A very newbie question but how do they get their initial advertisements  ::question

Usually they are from the admins. Sometimes they can have deals worked out though before though but thats rare.

You mean the admin of buxhost.com or the user of buxhost.com?

Although we provide hosting and the script, you are in control of your own business. You need to take care of the rest, which includes finding advertisers, paying members, replying to support tickets, etc. Note that there are potential advertisers among your members. Also, during the first weeks you can add self-sponsored ads to build a solid member base.
