List site owner in first post of New PTC Websites section
« on: February 05, 2013, 09:15:00 PM »
I was scanning the number of sites listed in the first 2 pages of the New PTC Websites section and I am confused by many.

The section looks like anyone can start a topic and list their referral link to these new sites.

Should you not at least enforce the need to indicate the site owner and only allow a direct link to the site?

Am I not reading the rules correctly?

i think there is a misunderstand there somewhere  ;D

anyone can start a topic on new websites
we do not require members to list the owners because quite honestly many owners tend to hide and/or lie about who they are and most members have no way of knowing who really owns a site
if we were to list owners we would want the truth and not just members playing a guessing game

the rules simply says if an owner does decide to introduce his own site he can request a site owner badge,  it is not a requirement

most forums don't allow ref links on new websites but then most forums don't care about the content of the posts, we do.
this is a forum for members and we want our members to get full details about a site so we do allow the first member to post a site to add his ref link if they take the time to give us the information that will help our members.
if the details are missing their ref link is removed

hope that answers your question?

Yes, the information help.

So I suppose I can start a new topic on a site that I do not own and include my referral link. As long as the site is not already listed and I include a bit of information.

For example, http://www.talkptc.com/index.php?topic=42941.0 would be suffice content for a typical first post in the section.

Sorry for entering your conversation with Aurora but
I actively moderate that board, so you run the risk of having your post edited, merged or deleted by me.
To be sure that your post with referral link will stay:

> click value for standard member or for the promo membership offered;
> Referral earnings value for standard member or for the promotional membership offered;
> Cash out value standard member or for the promo membership offered;

> Site is not already listed on that board.
> Do not redirect the link to other forum, blog, personal site or link shortener.

-x-
All additional details in bold letters in Tha Rules must fit.   :typing

Thanks PapaiMark for the additional information.

Your following 3 points would be valuable if added to the Rules for Posting.

> click value for standard member or for the promo membership offered;
> Referral earnings value for standard member or for the promotional membership offered;
> Cash out value standard member or for the promo membership offered;

The only real earnings is proof from the member that they got paid.

That would be a real payout, thats what the success story board is all about and yes under our conditions we allow ref links there too   ;D

unfortunately in ptc lots of members earn without ever getting paid so we want to know what they earn so they can better evaluate whether a site is even worth joining

Code: [Select]
earn without ever getting paid so we want to know what they earn
Earn means to receive...I do not count chickens until the eggs hatch. All you can say in this case is the worker has the potential of receiving. You could say a member is able to earn $.0005 for completing a 20 second task.

I am just thinking the new site section could provide more valuable information. Using the analogy of getting paid to do work it would be beneficial to potential workers to see the wages, the employer name, the conditions for receiving a paycheque, deductions from earnings and any additional benefits for good attendants.

As it is now the new section contains many posts that are not much more than an advertisement to join a site using the provided referral link.

I am not trying to give you a hard time...just sharing some thoughts.

in ptc whatever you earn in no way guarantees you will get paid
there is no way to use your definition in new ptc sites because nobody knows if a new is ever going to pay anyone

members care about click values,  ref earnings,  payout and any weird tos,  like click values are shares or pay to be paid
if members want to add a ref link they have to include that info in the posts and i don't see the how that is different from what you would like them to post

i suggest you find a nice new site and post whatever you think should be included  ;)  then lets how different that is

naming owners is useless,  firstly because too many members don't even know how to look up an owner and with a few exceptions owners run sites for a while,  stop paying, change name and come back with a new site so names are completely useless unless you plan to knock on their door and ask for an id
there is no way for anyone online to check who really owns what

i know your not trying to give me a hard time,  your fj    ;D
