ya i see that ad of credit burner on the main page it sucks my internet connection when clicking ads like am downloading something ???
What does all this credit burner and 0frame stuff mean? Is my comp at risk by using this site?
-
Creditburner and others like it are ptp advertising networks. They pay site owners to advertise their ptp links.
a lot of these ptp sites will use hidden iframes. Iframes are basically pages hidden in the page you are already viewing. The 0 in front of iframes is the size of the frame, meaning its there but has 0 visibility. You wont even know its there.
0-iframes are used to load sites onto your computer that you would normally not visit. Some can be harmless like visitor counters or geo-counters but most are very nasty.
They can redirect you to porn sites but they can also download trojans or do autosearches on your computer.
Normally ptp links will be worth up to about 50c per 1000 views. Creditburner and others like it will pay from 50c up to $5.00 per 1000 views.
Its a very profitable business for most site owners but very bad for the members clicking the links.
There are blacklists of sites using iframes and most forums won't allow those sites to be advertised.
So if you join a site and you are having problems loading the site or your browser freezes look around and you will probably find banners for creditburner, blueadvertise, pay-ads, fxlayer or vastgate. if you dont see the ads copy the url of the site into the jutaky detektor just to be sure. Even better, check all sites before joining.

Nice one, Sabbie.
I think this information is quite clear, and should be sticked to make it easy to find for all newbies.

Ok, thanks for that info. So, what's a jutaky detektor, and where can I get one?

Thanks for posting an explanation Sabbie. Admins keep getting sucked into this stupid program and it disrupts my traffic exchange programs. >:(
Stay away from Pay-Ads, Credit Burner and any high CPM Program for the sake of other webmasters and your members!

I'm not sure if this is something to look out for. While I was surfing today, I came across warnings about clicking on banner for ItsPTP. They say something about it doing unwanted searches. Does anyone know anything about this?
Here's the links I found that talked about it.

yes these networks really suck

Thanks Sabbie,
All the posts help.
While I was surfing I clicked on an ad for ShinyClix, and they had a link for GlobalGoldTalk Money Making Forum - GlobalGoldTalk.com and the detector found 0-iframes there.
It's bad enough these sites scam and run away with your money, but to make more money without you even knowing it is just - >:(

Thanks for info! :)
I use a Mac...does this make me safe(r) from these things?!?!? I mean, are these pages still able to download harmful s/w without me knowing? I know Macs used to be pretty much immune from this kind of thing, but now that Macs are becoming more popular & widespread things may have changed... :'(
Asp ;D

If you want PTP, just use the reliable ones. Less earnings, but safer.
Reliable sites are: Donkeymails, No-minimum, Fusionmails, etc
