Webstarts scam

Webstarts scams like every other that wants money over everything else.
They say that you can have a subdomain for as long as you want but after 2 months they lock the editing feature and force you to "upgrade". The site/blog becomes, then, just a text document.
You need to somewhat "hack" the site, editing it offline until you put another one up.
In my opinion, this is a way of SCAM.

don't sound like scam to me, sounds like normal advertising ploy.

I'm the founder of WebStarts and I have no clue what the guy in this post is talking about - We absolutely DON'T lock anyone out of their account. We do have a phone number right on our homepage and provide 24 hour a day chat and email support. And we DO charge money for upgraded features. After all - we're in business to make money as the other poster mentions.

You are an American and I am sure you know how to read and understand
even when foreign people use a translator.
Of course you are there to earn money, etc, etc.
But you lied. You / your site says that we can have a free site for as long as we want.
I read this in the faq.
But suddenly...

Indeed.
Got a clue now?

In time: IF you said that after 3 months the editing feature would be locked but we would still be able to post text as a blog, that would be all right.
I spread your site in many advertisements and took a lot of job and loss of invested money in advertisements when webstarts locked my blog.
I lost some bucks and you earned nothing.
IMO, an unsuccessful advertising ploy.

PapaiMark, I see under your name that you are a Global Moderator. Your last comment, however, is not indicative of that. To me, your last comment seems a little like a flame, a little troll-like. Now while I do not currently have a very high rank on this forum, I'd like to remind you to act like a moderator. I see why you may be angry, but I urge you express your anger in a more respectful way. Near the end of your you commented that it was a bad marketing ploy. I think that that was a good statement. But the opening sentences gave the feeling of you calling abarger stupid. That, I frown upon. Anyways, think about it.

Oops. I just noticed what the topic of the section is. "General Fun and Flames". Like I said, Oops. Oh well. Please excuse my stupidity. I don't think that flames should ever be allowed on the internet, but I was speaking out of place. I apologize.

But say earn money on the web!, easy!, everybory is earning and happy!.  cheap.. free....etc etc
It is so easy to say these doubtful truths that everybody is already anesthetized when read this.
Nobody cares.

But when someone comes and says the truth, ahhhhhh !!!...
The world has a convulsion, some cry, other contests, first page; what a frenesy.

maybe this is not applicable here. This forum has a scam list. A watchlist.

Don´t be so bored with this. Anyway, if you state that the user will have to somehow upgrade after few months to keep the editing feature, you won´t get many users indeed..... OOPS, Am I anesthetized too ?!!
