what does Private Message really mean

english is not my first language so i would like some help 

i am a member at another forum which is  run by idiots,  at this forum i sent a PRIVATE message to 2 people,  one of them being an admin of that forum
i did not send the PM to more than these 2 people,  i did not forward the PM to anyone,  i did not post the PM on the public forum

the admin posted my PRIVATE message on the public forum
the admin of that forum  believes that because i sent the PRIVATE message to 2 people it is no longer PRIVATE
the admin of that forum says if a PRIVATE message is meant to be PRIVATE it has to say 'please do not post in public" 

i would have posted this question on that forum but unfortunately it is heavily censored and i would not get an honest answer

so assuming this PM is non spam, what does PRIVATE message mean to you?

Option 1: the PM is only meant to be seen by the sender and the receiver(s), that admin is an idiot

Option 2: the PM is only meant to be seen by the sender and the receiver(s)  unless all parties agree on making it public, that    admin  is an idiot

Option 3: the PM is only PRIVATE if it includes a 'do not make this public"

Option 4: the PM is never private, your an idiot for thinking it is

Option 5: what the hell are you doing in a place like that

You are missing something here, may be "PRIVATE message" means something else in  "idiot"  language. (      )
Could not find it in google translate.    Anyone speaks this language we need a little help here.

I consider like you talk to your husband that admin is an idiot and things of TWO.
It is private if you wouldn´t say the same thing knowing that others are listening.
It is private if you wouldn´t say the same thing to others.

But if your husband tell others about your private conversation
he does not deserves to be respected and
will not have private conversations anymore.

PM is all about private conversion. EMS only ask people to follow rule when it do not hurt them.
