Blog marketing 101

Here are some good blog marketing tips ... he touches on search engines, keywords, quality content, etc.

Quote
Hey everyone,

I've seen many people come in here and ask something to the effect of "what blog marketing" is all about, and I am going to share the basics and why everyone and their "mom's, brothers, aunts, uncles, first cousin (who does backflips)" needs to have a blog.

1. Use wordpress. Word on the street is this is the favored software to use in the eyes of Google search engine bots.

2. Provide good, quality content. If you cannot write very well, you can actually outsource this fairly inexpensively, or you can attain some personal growth by enrolling in a few english or journalism classes at your local junior college. (Some people are turned off by this, but if you want to earn 6 or 7 figures in your pajamas you'll do what it takes.)

3. Update your content often. A good number of blog posts (and I'm guilty of this) is 10 new posts every 14 days. The content needs to be original, entertaining and educating. If you just post silly material, you'll find your readers don't become long term readers. (IE....no residual readership that refers your blog virally.)

4. Your blog is a giant list of keywords in the eyes of the search engine spiders. Every post you make, every sentence you write, and every word you use is a keyword, and the search engines check your blog for relevant content. (Now....with this information....the fun begins.)

Pretty much all traffic on the internet comes from "keyword" manipulation of one form or another.

--The better you get at writing articles that are content rich for "keywords" that you choose.

The more highly targeted your traffic becomes.

The more highly targeted your traffic becomes, the better your conversion results will be in getting them to join your "list" and/or "join your team" and/or "buy products from you."

"Ok that's all well and dandy, but just what in tarnation am I suppose to write about??"

Well, that's a terrific question, and I'm glad that you asked!

The answer is very simple. EDUCATE yourself in both personal growth, and in Marketing, and you will have a never ending stream of good quality information that you can provide your reader with, for free.

This establishes you as an authority figure. (Notice I did not say "THE authority figure" No one in this industry should have only 1 mentor. ...eggs....basket....you get the idea.)

People will not only enjoy the content on your blog because it helps them.

They will link to it.

They will refer others.

They will join your list.

And a certain % of them will end up contacting YOU to join YOUR business, and/or they will buy products from you.

Still searching for ideas?

Go read through my blog. It has almost 2 years of content in it, and you can literally see the evolution that I've gone through as a result of my education.

That blog has been responsible for recruiting over 60 people without any "active selling" on my end. It is my own little internet "Butler"! (And, I've named him Alfred.....because I'm really Batman in real life.)

Google Analytics wise, it currently has a 33.33% conversion ratio when people click on the links on my blog and go to my splash pages.

Now THAT is high quality, targeted traffic.

3% creates 7 figure earners in this industry.

33.33% will keep you up at nights.

EDUCATE -- BLOG -- ATTRACT

That's all for today everyone.

I also read somewhere once when you are putting in your tags, to misspell some of your words.  If someone accidentally misspells a word they could reach your site.
Here's a couple of sites I found helpful, especially for a beginner

There's a lot of great web building tutorials here.

Your can preview your html here - works great too for checking your links (just found out I typed one of them wrong too LOL)
